Health minister Dr AFM Ruhal Huq Tuesday said research cells would be set up for repairing and maintaining hospitals machineries in upazila health complexes. “Research cells for taking proper care of the equipment in health complexes would be introduced very soon in the country with the support of USAID,”the minister said. He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a programme of distributing intensive care unit (ICU) machinery and patient beds for district and upazila levels at Central Medical Stores Depot (CMSD) here. Maintenance and necessary repair work with minimum cost would be done by the experienced technical team under the research cell, he said.
Dr Ruhal said, “This government has sent not only regular health facilities at the door steps at the rural level but also sent life supports to the hospitals so that the serious patients would not have to waste their time in ambulance to come Dhaka”.
State Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Mozibur Rahman Fakir said, “The maintenance of the equipment is essential and it is the duty of a doctor to take proper care of these in the health complexes.
In this regard Director General (DG) Khandaker Md Shefaetullah said honesty of the doctors is also needed to take care of the equipment.
He claimed that there is no lack of medicines in health complexes and now it is possible to check blood sugar in health complexes in rural areas.
A total of 2388 hospital beds, 25 ultrasonogram mechines, 170 ECG machines, 85 plse oxymeters 50 ICU beds, 45 C-Arm Machines, 50 ICU Ventilators, 50 multi parameter patient monitors (cardiac) and 50 syringe pumps will be distributed under the programme among the district and upazila levels.
