Zinc Sulphate

Composition:

Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate is a source of Zincwhich is an essential trace element requiredfor human nutrition and involved in a numberof body enzyme system. Severe Zincdeficiency causes skin lesion, alopecia,diarrhoea, increased susceptibility ofinfections, cognitive impairment and failure tothrive in children. Symptoms of less severedeficiency include distorted or absentperceptions of taste and smell poor woundhealing. Therapy should continue until clinicalimprovement and be replaced by dietarymeasures unless there is severe malabsorption,metabolic disease or continuous Zinc loss.

Description:

Pep syrup: Each 5 ml contains Zinc SulphateMonohydrate USP equivalent to 4.05 mgelemental Zinc.Pep-2 syrup: Each 5 ml contains Zinc SulphateMonohydrate USP equivalent to 10 mgelemental Zinc.Pep-20 syrup: Each 5 ml contains ZincSulphate Monohydrate USP equivalent to 20mg elemental Zinc.Pep-20 tablet: Each coated tablet contains ZincSulphate Monohydrate USP equivalent to 20mg elemental Zinc.

Indication:

Zinc is essential for the correction of Zincdeficiency problems like growth retardation,decreased taste and smell, alopecia, dermatitis,diarrhoea, immunological dysfunction, failureto thrive, gonadal atrophy, impairedspermatogenesis and congenital malformation.

Dosage Administration:

The recommended dose for Children is 2 to2.5mg/Kg/dayPep syrup:Child under 10 kg: 5 to 6 teaspoonfuldaily in divided dosesChild over 10 kg: 5 to 6 teaspoonful1 to 3 times daily.Pep-2 syrup:Child under 10 kg: 1 to 2teaspoonful daily in divided dosesChild over 10 kg: 2 teaspoonful 1to 3 times dailyPep-20 syrup:Child under 10 kg: 1 teaspoonfuldaily once or in divided dosesChild over 10 kg: 1 teaspoonful 1to 2 times dailyAdult & child over 30 kg: 2teaspoonful 1 to 2 times dailyPep-20 tablet: One tablet 1 to 3 times dailyor as recommended by the physician.
